Aquatic Ecology Walk and Explore

07/27/2024 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM ET

Description

Join Annette and Jeff Schloss for an exploration of what goes on beneath the surface of ponds and streams in the summer and the varied animals and plants that live there. We'll be on the search for any fish, possible vertebrates, and invertebrates such as the immature stages of flies, beetles, and water bugs. The invertebrates we find will be indicative of the water quality in the river.

Come ready to walk a bit, and bring boots, waders, or shoes/sneakers that you are willing to get wet. Equipment for sampling and IDing will be supplied but feel free to bring a hand lens if you have one.

We will meet in the parking lot off of New Road at  9:00 AM. You can google directions to the Isinglass River Conservation Reserve in Strafford, NH and it will take you to this parking lot.
